3 People Walk Into a Bar explores the different ways people search for love, and the things that keep us from believing we deserve to receive it. Through three strangers forced to confront the lives they have lived and the truths they have avoided, the play examines how shame, grief, regret, and our own perceptions of ourselves can become their own form of punishment. At its heart, the story asks whether moving forward requires absolution from something greater than ourselves, forgiveness from the people we have hurt, or simply the willingness to forgive ourselves.
