To Catch a Firefly follows Aria, a young woman haunted by the fear that she will become like the abusive father she spent her life trying to escape. Through a recurring dream with her deceased brother, memories of their childhood, and an increasingly blurred line between fear and reality, Aria is forced to confront what it means when the people we understand as good become capable of causing terrible harm. The play explores inherited trauma, the fear of becoming what hurt us, and the uncomfortable space between the person someone is and the worst thing they have done.
